Summer is coming fast with a handful of style-surprises for this typically beachy, light, airy season! I think the most surprising spring trend is the season’s choice nail color: gold. It’s a very luxurious, sparkly, festive shade. It’s odd for summer because we usually expect pinks, oranges, and even blues this time of year. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m actually really loving it because it is so unexpected and different for this season!
The best part about this murky yet luxurious polish is that it has just enough shimmer to give the color some depth and allure. It even has a slight exotic feel (and we all know exotic is IN). And when my nails are glossed in OPI version of the gold hue, “Glitzerland” , it makes me think, “I know its gold, but not everyone else does!” I love the mystery! Is that weird?
Another reason I am in love with this trend is because it makes the transition from fall/winter colors to spring/summer shades seamless and so easy!
Personally, I like the gold look on short, oval (square cut with a slightly rounded edge) nails. I haven’t tried it on my toes yet, but I imagine that might be nice as well.
Don’t worry if you have trouble finding it at first—almost all the major brands will be rolling out their lovely lotus polishes later this spring. But, if you’re willing to splurge, Chanel’s $23 “Delight” is the gold polish to have.

The clothes closet is one of the most congested areas in the house. It’s often stuffed from floor to ceiling with clothing, purses, shoes and random things that you don’t know what to do with. The Coachella Music and Arts Festival is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
